Friday Link-up and Loving Lately

2015-09-02_09-11-28

It’s Labor Day weekend! I feel like there’s a lot going on this weekend. First home football game of the season, last open pool weekend, an Open Gym shift at the gym, and of course, a three-day weekend. So without further adieu, here’s another edition of Friday Link-up and Loving Lately.

Aurorae Resistance Bands

Oh my gosh am I in love with these! Aurorae contacted me a few months ago and offered to send me a product of my choice to review. The family-run company makes amazing eco-friendly yoga and fitness gear, and we’re always happy to support another business that values the same things we do. The resistance bands set I selected are almost exactly like the Crossover Symmetry set we have at the gym and are perfect for my ridiculous lifestyle. I’ve taken them everywhere — to work, on vacation to Colorado, and room to room around the house while I’m chasing Beeb around.

The set comes with 5 bands (levels: yellow= 2-4 pounds; blue= 4-6 pounds; green= 10-12 pounds; black= 15-20 pounds; red= 25-30 pounds) made from high grade latex rubber, padded handles, door anchor, ankle strap and a guidebook in a tote. They make extra accessory work, mobility, and PT work from my chiropractor possible. They are a really good investment for an athlete — and I feel so fortunate that they contacted me! Here are some of the workouts I’ve done with them, but I plan on doing a post with a few more soon:

Gillette Venus Swirl

I don’t know if I’m alone in this, but I am a frequent consumer of male-targeted products. I don’t think it’s actually because the products are better (well maybe the deodorant), but more out of convenience, cost savings, and the benefit of having 1/2 as many products in the bathroom.

With that said, it’s been a few years since I’ve actually had a real women’s razor. I remember buying the Gillette Venus when it first came out back in college. Remember the commercials? So I was nearly giddy I was when Women’s Health offered me the opportunity to review the new Gillette Venus Swirl. Razors have gotten so fancy lately, and this is no exception. It’s got a pivoting FLEXIBALL (fancy!) and five blades — yes FIVE blades. My other razor has three. My skin has been so much better since the switch, especially around my knees and ankles, so I think I’m a converting back. All the effort in the gym looks so much better when your legs aren’t marked up from your razor.

Physician’s Formula Argan Wear™ Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil

Speaking of things Women’s Health has gotten me hooked on, let’s chat about Argan oil. They recently sent me this awesome little body of Argan Wear™ Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil. I’ve been love with the Paula’s Perfecting Serum since receiving it last year, and it along with my Nerium have been my go-to staples ever since. However, during the summer I’ve found that I don’t like a lot of products on my face, and this has where Argan oil has been such a blessing.

It combines all the benefits of a moisturizer, primer, brightener, protector and treatment in one, and it’s super lightweight, so my face doesn’t feel as if it’s melting by 2 pm. It’s also perfect for someone who has combination skin, and I find myself putting a drop or two on throughout the day when parts of my face are feeling a little more dry. The overall effect on my skin has been amazing, and I find that I’m using less make-up than I normally would.

I love that all these great finds have me feeling more beautiful and put together in my thirties than I did in my twenties. Cheers to getting better and better with age!

Disclosure: I am participating in the Women’s Health Action Hero program and have been provided with products from Gillette and Physician’s Formula and the opportunity to participate in an ambassadorship program for the period of a year in exchange for my thoughts, awareness through blog posts and opinions about any products or opportunities I partake in.
