Halloweenies

Happy Friday! It’s a cold and rainy morning here, and everyone seems to be cuddled up wherever they can find a warm spot, even if it means sleeping with the enemy.

I think we’ve finally got our yucky colds beat, and luckily, right in time for the weekend! Tomorrow morning we’re off to Kansas City for a Halloween-themed night of fun with Alex and Audrey and some friends. We were kind of last-minute in coming up with costumes, but I think they’ll go over well. People expect us to be weird so I really don’t think we can fail. I’ll post some pics of what we ended up choosing after the party.

Clive is going to don his skeleton costume again this year, but as this is Tildy’s first Halloween, she needed a costume to match. While we’ve put clothes on them before, we typically try to stay out of the “ridiculous” and “obnoxious” realm. Some of the costumes they make for dogs are just a little over-the-top don’t you think? I like things that they can still play in, and if they wreck it, then we’re out less than $10. I found this little pumpkin tee and a little tutu while at Target the other day and it was perfect. I couldn’t resist putting it on her immediately, and she loved it. She really thought she was hot stuff.

Oh what have I done....

I’m off to do a little baking for the party. I haven’t baked in FOREVER, so I’m really excited to try out a new recipe I’ve been thinking about. Wish me luck!

Are you dressing up for Halloween this year?

Nice Costumes for the Pups, I can’t wait to see what you and Neil came up with for yourselves!
I think its fun to get your dogs into Halloween! I found a good one this year for Kahalua, For anyone reading this that doesn’t know., Kahalua is my girlfriends dog, she’s a greyhound and former racer. (Trust me that’s very important information to know before you look at the costume). This is her costume:

I volunteer at our local nature center’s Halloween/fall event, so I do dress up for that (as a frog!). But I haven’t dressed up for Halloween for years in any other sense. I really love and enjoy the holiday in the kid-sense of it, but I don’t like crazy parties or haunted houses. I imagine I’ll dress up and celebrate Halloween a lot more once we have a kid.

Of course we dress up! This year Hazel is being Hello Kitty (homemade!) and Jack is a tiger. J.D. is throwing a Halloween Disc Golf Tournament and he wants everyone to dress up. He’s trying to talk me into being a figure skater because it’s sports themed…

Cute! I can’t wait to see the Hello Kitty costume. My mom always made our costumes, so much more special. If you go as a figure skater, do you have to wear the skates, that might affect your game. 🙂

I need to try this disc golf. Neil used to play with his dad and brothers but somehow I missed the boat.
